Arthritis is a degenerative disease that many blame on heretics, or aging. As you have seen with other diseases, the cause is diet and inflammation. Here are foods to include in your diet to relieve your discomfort.
Supplement with Vitamin C and glucosamine. I would say, double your vitamin C. When I was young, there was an article about a doctor who cured his arthritis with high doses of vitamin C. The remaining question that bothered this doctor was whether the vitamin C had cured the arthritis, or whether the arthritis may have been caused by a deficiency in the first place. The medical establishment quickly pooh-pooh’d the whole thing. But I never forgot it. It’s cheap to try, and it won’t hurt you.
I only take glucosamine when I have an injury. Once I’m healed, I stop. If you are currently suffering from arthritis, it may take a while before you feel better.
Oh, and a note about vitamin C – if you don’t currently take vitamin C, start with 500 mg. a day for a little while. If you take too much too quickly, you may get the runs. Also note that it takes a good 6 months for your vitamin C levels to build. It doesn’t happen overnight.
Other healthy foods and habits that will help you feel better are –

Lots of fresh vegetables –
Raw – cabbage, carrot, celery, cucumber, endive, dark green lettuces, onion, radishes, tomatoes, watercress.
Cooked – asparagus, beets, beans, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, onions, peas, spinach, tomatoes, and turnips.
Raw vegetable juices that work to disolve deposits around joints – green leaf mixed with carrot, celery, and red beet.

Soaking in a warm bath with sea salt.

Get regular light exercise like walking, swimming, yoga, or Tai Chi.
Cut out packaged foods that build up toxins in your body.
Almost all diseases can be linked to an inflammation of some kind – arthritis, asthma, artery disease, diabetes just to name a few. It’s good insurance to eat a couple of foods from the anti-inflammatory list every day.
Steer clear of foods known to cause inflammation such as –
Oils such as vegetable and corn
Keep caffeine and alcohol to a minimum.
