So we have yet another virus coming out of China. While its not quickly spreading here at this time, you might be wondering if there is anything you can do to protect you and your family.
So little is known at this point, but you can fortify yourself to minimize the risk should you come in contact.
The fist thing you can do is fortify your immune system –
Almonds, apricots, broccoli, canteloupe, carrots, celery, chicken, chocolate, citrus fruits, dark greens, eggs, fruits, garlic, green tea, mango, meat, mushrooms, onion, peaches, peanuts, pineapple, pumpkin, spinach, squash, sweet potato, tomato, tomato products, walnuts, watermelon.
The next thing you can do is to eat more anti-viral foods –
- Cayenne pepper
- Lemon juice (fresh)
- Tomato Juice
- Orange juice
- Vitamin C
- Green tea
- Chicken soup
Avoid inflammatory foods like sugars and pop that weaken your body.
Take your vitamins – especially vitamin C, vitamin D, and Zinc. Essential nutrients for your immune system are – Anti-oxidants (especially vitamins C & E and lycopene), Vitamin A, Vitamin D (get out in the sun a little!), Omega 3s, folate, protein, magnesium, and zinc.
Get exercise to strengthen your body and keep your lymphatic system flowing. It is vitally important to get exercise and reduce stress. Exercise reduces stress, so the two go hand in hand. Breathing exercises and Yoga help too.
Get enough sleep. Your body requires sleep to rebuild and heal.
Remember that it takes a good 6 months of eating healthy and taking your vitamins before you suddenly notice that you’re not getting sick as much, if at all. Start now!
