How did food get so distorted? The truth about healthy eating

I’m sitting here eating 2 eggs over easy. I’m dipping my toast in the yolks. Yum!

I have to wonder, who in their right mind would want to eat just egg whites? There’s no flavor or nutrition in the whites. How did this come to be?

Oh yeah, there was some doctor who wrote a paper saying eggs were high in cholesterol and they were causing heart disease.

People have been eating eggs for hundreds of years.

Never mind that it was found that his study was flawed, and he lied about some things, and its not true. That myth persists to this day. Because of all of the crap commercial chickens are fed, you do want to eat as close to natural as you can afford.

Or how about Soy? The dangers of soy overconsumption were reported by the World Health Organization, oh 20 or 30 years ago. People, including doctors, still think soy is healthy. The only soy that is good for you is fermented soy, not the commercial processed stuff that is in everything packaged. And to make matters even worse, most soy now is GMO which has skyrocketed soy allergies.

Or how about the healing benefits of foods? Many of us will tell you that broccoli has chemical compounds that may disrupt the growth of cancer cells. While that certainly is true, common sense should tell you that you can’t cure cancer just by eating broccoli. The amount of broccoli you would have to eat is not humanly possible.

The only diet that has accounted for this fact is the Gerson Diet. You have to drink what must seem like gallons of vegetable juices that are made in such a way as to not remove or destroy any of the delicate enzymes. The juice makes the nutrients immediately available for your body to absorb. You literally flood your body with nutrients consistently.

So while having a couple of glasses of fresh vegetable juice a day is certainly good for you, it is not going to cure most diseases. It will help prevent, especially if you are eating a balanced diet of fresh real foods.

All these crazy claims – low fat, no fat, no meat…  Popular raw foodies, vegans, and vegetarians are back peddling because of health problems.

Your body needs all sorts of nutrients that you will only get by eating a balanced diet of fresh, real foods.

So stop feeling like you can eat this or that. The only foods you can’t eat are the chemical concoctions that pass for food. Stay away from the processed and chemical laden ‘foods’ and you will stay a whole lot healthier. Buy the best quality that you can afford. Grow your own. Learn to cook.

You can enjoy wonderfully delicious food, and still be thin and healthy. My daughter and I are a testament to that!
