No time to marinate? Tired of boring meat?

Try a Rub.

You simply very lightly coat with olive oil to help the rub stick, and then take a spice blend and rub it on the meat before you put it on the grill or in the pan.

Here are a few blends to get you started –

Basic

  • 4 teas.paprika
  • 1 teas. salt
  • 1 teas. garlic powder
  • 1/2 teas. black pepper
  • 1/2 teas. onion powder
  • 1/2 teas. sugar

Mexican

  • 2 teas.chili powder
  • 2 teas oregano
  • 2 teas. ground cumin
  • 1 teas. salt
  • 1/2 teas. black pepper
  • 1/2 teas. cayenne

Southern

  • 2 teas.brown sugar
  • 2 teas paprika
  • 1 teas. salt
  • 1/2 teas. black pepper
  • 1/2 teas. oregano
  • 1/2 teas. thyme

South Western

  • 2 teas.brown sugar
  • 1 teas paprika
  • 1 teas. salt
  • 1/2 teas. black pepper
  • 1/2 teas. cumin
  • 1/2 teas. corriander
  • 1/2 teas. chili powder

Indian

  • 2 teas.brown sugar
  • 2 teas paprika
  • 1 teas. salt
  • 1/2 teas. black pepper
  • 1/2 teas. curry powder
  • 1/2 teas. turmeric
  • 1/2 teas. ground ginger
  • 1/2 teas. cardamom

Mediterranean

  • 2 teas.brown sugar
  • 2 teas paprika
  • 1 teas. salt
  • 1/2 teas. black pepper
  • 1/2 teas. tarragon
  • 1/2 teas. marjoram
  • 1/2 teas. rosemary
  • 1/2 teas. basil
  • 2 teas. lemon zest

Sweet & Spicy

  • 4 teas.paprika
  • 1 teas. salt
  • 1 teas. ground ginger
  • 1 teas. cinnamon
  • 1/2 teas. cayenne
  • 1/2 teas. allspice

Blackened

  • 2 teas. black pepper
  • 1 teas. salt
  • 1 teas. garlic powder
  • 1 teas. paprika
  • 1/2 teas. cayenne
  • 1/2 teas. oregano
  • 1/2 teas. thyme
