Oh wait – there was a paper thin slice of tomato, a piece of lettuce, and 2 slices of really good dill pickle served with my 1/2 pound bacon cheeseburger last night. When we were ordering, I asked if anyone was interested in a salad. Na.

I should have said, “I’ll bring the salad.”

The fact is – you will be in a lot of situations over the next couple of weeks where there won’t be much healthy food in sight. If its important to you, you will have to plan accordingly.

Here are some quick things you can do to get some nutrients in your system –

Have some fruit with breakfast.

If you get  some vegetables with your sandwich – put them on and eat them. Its not much, but better than nothing.

Drink more juice. Judging by the popularity of juicers this season, it seems more people are getting the message. Fresh juice is a lightening fast way to flood your body with nutrients. If you have to go with processed, go for juices corn syrup or added sugars. V8, cranberry, orange, tomato, and many other juices taste great and will give you a nutrient boost.

Try to eat a salad a day.

A whey protein shake with banana and strawberries packs a good nutritional punch. Throw in a couple spinach leaves for an additional boost. You won’t even taste it.

Add enough sleep, water, and a little exercise and you’ll be running circles around everyone else!
