This is the greatest season for fresh food, and little cooking! How much better can you get than that?
My daughter and her boyfriend are coming up Saturday and I’ve been busy planning the menu. When its just my daughter, I do chicken for her. Boyfriend says he’s not crazy about chicken (but he snarfs it up when you put it in front of him 😉 But I’ll do beef.
So, I’m thinking marinated steak with grilled pepper and onions, corn on the cob, tossed salad, and maybe some watermelon. How does that sound?
I can’t decide between –
Marinated Sirloin with grilled marinated vegetables
As far as what kind of steak, I was originally thinking Chuck Steak, but Ribeyes are on sale for less. That’s a no-brainer, right?
There is a video below that shows our favorite way of making the corn.
There are a couple of festivals around, so we don’t want to be spending a lot of time cooking and cleaning up.
Sunday morning breakfast is another dilemma. My daughter likes scrambled eggs and cheese. Boyfriend isn’t fond of breakfast food. So I’m thinking Spanish Omelets, sausage, toast, and some fruit. I hear the strawberries are good right now.
I think they are leaving before dinner on Sunday.
Then I have to make a batch of Fudgy Brownies for a friend’s birthday on Monday.
Healthier eating is not boring! The key is to make it yourself using fresh ingredients. No chemicals!
