This weekend we are processing pumpkins. Its a weird tradition I started and it has grown – much to my surprise.
It was a real oddity at first. I wanted to try fresh pumpkin. People thought I was really weird. But once people tasted pumpkin bread made with fresh pumpkin…
Then my daughter started taking an interest. She had a friend up last year and we did a couple pumpkins. We had pumpkin seeds, pumpkin bread, and pumpkin pancakes.
This year she is having another friend – maybe 2, coming to do pumpkins. I’m really surprised at the interest.
I didn’t do enough pumpkins last year. We ran out just after Thanksgiving. I definitely have to step it up this year.

I haven’t tried doing a big pumpkin. I stick to baking pumpkins. Walmart had a bunch of them. I do 2 or maybe 4 at a time. We’ll see how far get this year…
