Find Healthy Foods That You Like to EatI am a food snob.

Not the kind that wants caviar and champagne. But I want real food that tastes good and isn’t going to kill me.

I was growing up when packaged foods were hitting the shelves. In the beginning, any self respecting mother would not be caught dead serving this garbage.

Ahhh, but due to the magic of marketing – people started loving it.

I’ll never forget when my grandmother made Shake-N-Bake for the first time. She was just beaming, “Doesn’t it taste good?”

Um, no. It tastes like chemicals and grease. And what was worse? I did dishes and cleanup. That pan full of grease had splattered all over the oven. There was grease all over the stove from when she pulled that grease filled pan out of the oven. It was horrible!

Now back in those days, it wasn’t about being healthy. We had no clue that these foods could actually harm us.

One time I was working as a waitress. A lady asked if our gravy was made by the cook, or from a can. She said that she wouldn’t eat the stuff out of a can because it tasted so bad.

I had been eating the stuff. Yeah, it didn’t taste as good as the real thing, but it was there. You know what I mean?

I decided that I was not going to lower my standards – at least as much as I could. I maintained those standards even when I was on food stamps. People think it costs too much to eat healthier, but it really doesn’t.

Now we know that the chemicals, sodium, sugars and fats are making us fat and sick.

But many people are stuck. Their taste buds have acclimated to these fake foods. And it is by design. Scientists work hard to make sure that the foods have a certain balance of sugar and sodium to trick your tastebuds. They even work on making the textures just right, so you have to do just the right amount of chewing, that the food easily slides down your throat making it easier for you to eat more faster. The science is truly incredible.

But, a funny thing happens when you start eating real food.

After a couple of months you’ll find that the foods you used to love actually taste horrible!

  • Your tastebuds recover.
  • Your metabolism recovers.
  • Your natural appetite regulation recovers.
  • You lose weight.
  • You feel better.

Its a beautiful thing!

You may think that you don’t have time to make real food. Didn’t people spend hours in the kitchen back then?
