Why people think they don’t like healthy eating

Who wants to eat that?

I got this in an email newsletter the other day.

Is it any wonder people think they don’t like healthy eating? I mean look at those choices! Does even one sound appealing to you? Yeah, me either.

Some people really believe you have to eat like this to be healthy, and in that case, most people choose to pass.

I am still a believer in the old fashioned balanced diet of real food.

In my home we eat-

  • Steak with a baked potato and steamed broccoli
  • Pork chop with a baked sweet potato and green beans
  • Chicken teriyaki with peppers and onions
  • Chicken fajitas
  • Sante fe Skillet
  • Chicken Picante
  • Baked Mostaccioi with a tossed salad and garlic bread

And those are just the go-to’s. And all of it is cheaper and tastes better than eating out.

Simple, fast, inexpensive and delicious. How can you beat that?

Don’t buy into the lie that you have to eat all vegetables and weird foods in order to be healthy.

On the other hand, I was so disappointed when I heard on the radio that they had done a survey and 60% of the people said they aren’t eating vegetables.

In the stores, the frozen pizzas were wiped out, but the produce section was full. Sigh…We’re in a health crisis. The very foods you need to build your immune system, people aren’t eating.

People my age (end of the boomers) are the first to show the long term effects of the commercial diet. The amount of diabetes, COPD and joint problems in this group is shocking to me. So many people can barely walk. They can’t take a walk, or go to a festival, or go antiquing… so many simple things they can no longer enjoy.

Is that how you want to live your golden years?

Eating healthier is not that hard, and once you start – you won’t go back.
