Boy, in my neck of the woods, poison ivy is prolific! I never had to deal with poison ivy before moving to this neighborhood.
I figured it would be a good idea if you know what it looks like.
Its leaves of three. All three leaves come out of one node. The 2 outside leaves have a mitten shape. See the thumb?
If you get close enough, which I don’t suggest – the stem below the leaves is a reddish color.
I’ve included a few more pictures, and a video with information on how to wash up if you do get exposed.
Be careful out there! If you do not know an area, stay on the path!
I’ve never actually had a poison ivy rash, so I can’t vouch for any treatment. My neighbor across the street has really bad reactions. She has to get prescription meds and creams. A few people had it pretty bad last year.
It terrifies me.
I bought this stuff, and it seems to be working. Its been so rainy here that I haven’t been able to do a lot, but the couple of plants that I sprayed are shriveling up. (that is an affiliate link)
