Fatigue Fighters

What are the first things you reach for when you are fatigued? Coffee? While coffee is ok in moderation, some days you need more than you know you should drink. Energy Drinks? Most of those are filled with high levels of caffeine and sugar. There are better solutions to deal with fatigue-

Water. Yes, water. Think about how effective a dried out sponge is. Not very effective, right? Lack of sleep, alcohol, and many other things can dehydrate your body. You’ll be surprised at how much a glass of water will help. Drink a glass every couple of hours to keep your body well hydrated and running great!

Here are some great energizing foods –

My favorite pick me up is a big salad with dark green lettuces, tomatoes, onions, egg, cheese, and whatever else strikes me at the moment. Works like a charm! If I have that at dinner, I get my second wind and can enjoy the evening.

Oranges, banana, apricots- both fresh and dried, cantaloupe, blueberries, mangos, apples, cherries, plums, nectarines

Dates, figs

Almonds

Flaxseed

Oatmeal

Black, navy beans, lentils

Turkey and Cheese sandwich with lettuce, tomato and avocado

Cottage Cheese

Plain Yogurt with fresh fruit

Salmon

Granola

Peanut Butter on apple slices

Peanut Butter on celery

Honey

Greens (salad, green beans, spinach…)

Fruit Smoothies (yum!)

Chocolate (in moderation please!)

Happy energizing!
