Mexican grilled sirloin

1 -1 to 1 ½ lb. sirloin steak

2 Tablespoons vegetable oil

½ teaspoon oregano

¼ teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper

¼ cup orange juice

1 Tablespoon lime juice

2 teaspoons cider vinegar

2 orange slices, about ½ inch thick

Place steak in shallow glass baking dish. Rub oil on each side of steak.

Sprinkle with oregano and pepper.

Sprinkle orange juice, lime juice and vinegar over steak.

Cover and refrigerate several hours, or overnight, turning occasionally.

Bring meat to room temperature.

Preheat grill.

Drain meat, reserving marinade.

Place meat on grill, topping with orange slices.

Occasionally spoon reserved marinade over steaks while cooking.

Grill 3 – 4 minutes each side for medium. About 5 minutesper side for medium well.

To turn steak, set orange slices aside. Turn steak. Put orange slices back on top.

Serves 4 – 6.

OK, really hardly anyone actually does the oranges, but its a nice touch if you’re cooking for a party…
