Do you realize that this is actually the worst time of year for weight gain if you are in the northern hemisphere?
This is the period when its too cold to go out and do much. We’re stuck in the house – restless and bored.
And that New Year Diet?
Yeah, you’re over that.
How many times have you found yourself standing in front of the fridge looking for something to eat – not because you are hungry, but for something to do? I do it.
There are 2 solutions to this problem –
1. Make sure you have better choices on hand.
Have things like fruits, vegetables, salad fixings, cheese, salsa, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, hummus …
2. Find something else to do –
Keeping yourself busy will help keep you from continual noshing.
Clean a closet or the store room,
Sort out those boxes of pictures,
Try a new exercise video,
Paint a room,
Plan your garden,
Learn something new,
Simple enough, right?
Be aware of what you are eating and why. You’ll be able to catch yourself when you are eating mindlessly.
