Tough – Do It Anyway!

Are you feeling unmotivated?

Lethargic?

Is it taking you longer to accomplish basic tasks?

Are the days of the week blurring together?

You’re not alone. Most of us are dealing with pandemic burnout.

And as hard as we try to get back to our productive self, we just can’t seem to muster up the emotional energy.

“When people are under a long period of chronic, unpredictable stress, they develop “behaviorial andedonia”; a reduced ability to take pleasure in activities according to Margaret Wehrenberg, an expert on anxiety, And so they get lethargic, and they show a lack of interest, and obviously that plays a huge role in productivity.”

This too shall end… but when?

I finally got an appointment for my vaccination – and while it felt good, its still full of uncertainty. How sick will I feel? Will I be able to function tomorrow?

Even so, I would rather go thru a short period of not feeling well than chance getting Covid.

I really look forward to being able to go out to eat.

In the meantime…

Thank heaven the weather is warmer and we can get outside and get fresh air and exercise.

Today I cleaned the car windows and I did the storm window, screen switch. I took out what I could and cleaned it. While I didn’t feel like doing it, it feels better to look out clean windows.

And it feels good when we actually accomplish something!

take a walk

We have to find joy in the simple things.

A clean house

Clean windows

A warm day

Painted toenails

Trying a new recipe

Savoring your food

Taking a walk

But there is one thing that will make your life infinitely better –

Tough – Do It Anyway!

No excuses.

No procrastination.

That is my motto for the rest of the year. Enough with the babying and whining.

Tough – Do It Anyway!

I’m not putting up with anymore crap from myself.

How about you?

Don’t stay complacent. We are nearing the end of this, and you’re going to wish you had gotten things done.

The motivation and encouragement as well as all the really useful articles are a key reason for me being here. I have seen my to-do list as long as my arm, and have felt very much unmotivated. Recovering slowly, everything that I need to do will be fine , and the encouragement to complete little things helps break everything down so as it is not such a mammoth task. I always find something here that I can use, giving me a little more time to myself to enjoy the spring sunshine.

A little at a time and it will be done. I hope you recover quickly. Enjoy being outdoors as much as possible!
