What you probably don’t know about Facebook

Like this postWhen you post something on Facebook, you probably assume that all of your friends see it. I always thought so.

Not true!

Facebook shows your post to one or two people. Maybe 5 or 6 if it’s something you shared on Facebook, and they will stay on Facebook. If no one likes or shares it – that is as far as it goes, especially if it links to something outside of Facebook.

And, if you don’t like your friends and family’s posts, they will assume that you don’t want to see them – so they won’t show them to you.

You have to at least ‘like’ posts. If you take the time to comment, Facebook gives that even more weight. And if you share it, to Facebook that means that you really liked it.

So, if you’re reading your timeline and you haven’t seen anything from your sister in a while, you probably haven’t been ‘liking’ her posts. To Facebook that means you just don’t like her much.

That’s not true, is it?
