For nights when you don’t have much time, or you’re just not real motivated – I’m sharing my basic go-to dinners.
I plan a 3 course meal – a meat, a vegetable, and a side.
Examples-
Pork chop, sweet potato, green beans
Steak, baked potato, salad
Grilled chicken breast, steamed broccoli, beans
Chicken breast with teriyaki glaze, green beans, pineapple
Cheeseburger, salad, watermelon
Spaghetti, salad, garlic bread
Tuna salad subs, broccoli salad, fruit
So that is the simple formula.
You can also do grilled peppers, onion, and garlic (love this!)
Every week I buy –
Chicken breasts
Pork chops
Lettuce
Tomatoes
Onion
Broccoli
Green Beans
Fruit
I make sure I always have –
Cheeses
Can Tomatoes
Tomato Paste
Pasta
Rice
Beans
Tuna
Hamburgers (I pre-make them and put them in the freezer)
Mini-loaves and buns (I keep them in the freezer)
Once or twice a month I’ll buy steaks, but I make them the same day. They are not as good once frozen.
To make life easier, when I get home from the store, I individually wrap the pork chops and chicken breasts so I can take out just what’s needed. I put each one in a fold over baggie, and then put those in a freezer bag.
If you have enough selections in the house, as long as you remembered to take something out of the freezer, dinner is easy!
